Respect

Our Federation Values - Respect

At our school, we believe that respect is the foundation of a positive and caring community. Respect means valuing others, listening to different opinions, and treating everyone with kindness and fairness. We teach our children to respect themselves, others, and the world around them. By showing respect in our words and actions, we create a safe and welcoming environment where everyone can learn, grow, and feel valued.

The Bible reminds us in Romans 13 to “Pay others the honour and respect you owe them.” This teaches us that showing respect is not optional — it is something we owe to everyone. By treating others with kindness, fairness, and dignity, we help build a community where everyone feels valued. At our school, we encourage children to live out this message each day, creating a place where respect is shown to all.

A Poem About Respect — By Our Children

Respect is listening to what others say,
Even if we see things a different way.
Respect is shown by being kind,
With open hearts and thoughtful minds.

Respect is for adults and children too,
We all deserve it — me and you.
Respect means caring for things we share,
Looking after property, showing we care.

Respect is welcoming people here,
With friendly smiles and words sincere.
Respect means keeping our village bright,
Taking rubbish home — doing what’s right.

Respect is something we all can show,
It helps our kindness grow and grow.

"In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you..." Luke 7:12

Here Jesus is telling how we should behave with anyone, not just believers. The instruction is unconditional: it is simply the right way to live.
